Where Am I ?

Happy Weekend !

I hate to be one to wish my life away, but . . .

I admit it - I am wishing this winter gone.

And every weekend gets us one week closer to spring - Yay!!!

This is not only Valentine's Weekend, it's Donald's birthday.

We celebrated a little by going out to dinner last night.

Today we're going to scoot over to my Mom's for a little while - maybe play a little Canasta.

Sometime today or tonight I'm going to bake him a cake in my new heartshape Bundt pan. A chocolate walnut pound cake. Yum.

In the meantime, I'm also hanging out with my friends at Poe's Deadly Daughters blogspot this weekend. I hope you'll drop by and say "Hey!" We're going to talk about Valentine's Day.

Happy Birthday to Donald. I think a lot of people are looking forward to warmer weather and sunnier days.

Have a great weekend.

I know you are ready for spring, Kaye. I can't wait for the lovely wildflowers, but, of course, in Austin we have had nothing like you guys. Just endless gray skies. Happy birthday to your honey!

The card is priceless. I love it!

I read the card and burst out laughing. Hubby is yelling "What's the matter?" from the other room...

Sunshine. That's what we need! Even if it stays cold, we need an end to gray skies.

Hi Everyone - Happy Valentine's Day!

I am SO glad y'all hooted at that card like I did! Isn't it just too funny?!

The cake was good - I tossed in a few extra walnuts, and a few extra bittersweet chocolate chunks and it was just delish. And didn't I read just this weekend that dark chocolate and nuts are good for us. Well, then - there ya go. A healthy chocolate cake. Either this evening or tomorrow I'll post a picture of the cake and the recipe, so check back.
