Chasing the Carousels of Paris at Janet Rudolph's Mystery Fanfare

You're probably already a follower of Janet Rudolph's blog, Mystery Fanfare, but if you aren't please scoot over there to read it.  There's always something fun.  It's one of the best places to keep up with news from the mystery community.

She also writes the Dying for Chocolate blog; yummmmm . . .

Now, "Carousels of Paris" isn't a mystery, but I'm awfully proud to be a long-time participant in the mystery community.

For that reason, Janet was kind enough - in her always so gracious manner - to invite me to say a little something about my upcoming book to help promote it.

You can find it here:  Chasing the Carousels of Paris  -  Enjoy!!

Pub date is March 17 -

Don't forget!

Some things never change. I have always been bad about picking up and bringing home strays. I would cry and cry and cry when my parents would insist that the most recent stray, be it dog, cat or person, had to leave and go home. I've gotten better and now the strays are, for the most part, stuffed and on sale. Who could resist this unicorn ballerina?! not me.

What else does one need in a room of one's own?

Well.

A pretty light fixture.

One that we unearthed while sorting boxes out here

and a handsome husband to hang it!

Well, he's handsome when he's in focus . . .

And a cute little fluffy dog, of course.

And today I start a new project.

I'm excited.

I love doing collage work and I've spent a great deal of time thinking about this one.

Sometimes (make that, often), however, what I see in my mind doesn't necessarily translate into reality as I might hope.

But, oh well.

It's fun to do.

Fun to try.

And interesting to see the final results.

If I can't go to Paris this year, I'll dream about it and build my own "Fantasy Paris"

We'll keep you posted!

Coming Soon!

As of today, our book Carousels of Paris is still on schedule to be released in March.

Early praise is very (VERY) good!

“Kaye and Donald Barley’s photographs of Parisian carousels capture the whimsy, wit, and charm of the raucous merry-go-rounds that pepper the cobblestone streets and manicured parks of the City of Light. So grab a copy of Carousels of Paris and let your imagination wander back to a world full of colored lights and painted horses, quaint carriages and playful tigers, fantastical griffins and endangered dodos.”
—Juliet BlackwellNew York Times bestselling author of The Lost Carousel of Provence and Letters from Paris

“Simply enchanting! The carousels are delightful and the photographers manage to bring them to life. I half expected them to leap off the pages. I absolutely adored this book!”
—Jenn McKinlayNew York Times bestselling author and author of soon to be released Paris is Always a Good Idea

A cover reveal and give-aways will be coming . . .  soon.

Stay tuned!
