I'm Having a Party

In case anyone on God's green earth missed the news - I'm going to be retiring the end of this month.

AND -

Borrowing from a long and much loved DorothyL tradition - I'm going to have a "virtual party" to celebrate.  This way, some of my friends who aren't able to come by my office on Friday, January 28th to give me a real hug,  can stop by my virtual party and pass along a virtual hug.  And indulge in some virtual champagne, and some virtual chocolate cake and whatever else some of the virtual guests might bring along to share (virtually).

So - if you can - drop by Meanderings and Muses OR my Virtual Retirement Facebook page on the 28th for a little get-together.

In the meantime - we're trying to come up with some good music for the event.

Here's a few some of us have come up with - if you have some more ideas, please share!

I'm Already Gone by The Eagles -

We've Gotta Get Out of This Place by The Animals -

and - Of course - - - -

Working Nine to Five by Dolly Parton -

More good music suggestions?  Let me hear 'em, please!

What on earth are you going to do with yourself? He he, I know from experience, the time will absolutely disappear in front of your eyes. But I know whatever you do, it'll be great.

Congratulations again on your upcoming retirement. Looking forward to your virtual retirement party, thanks for the invitation. Enjoyed the music you have picked out so far. For some reason the only song that came to mind was Johnny Paycheck's "Take This Job." :)

Marilyn - I don't know of anyone who has shown us what we're all capable of doing during retirement! You're an inspiration to me, for sure - and many others. Thank you for dropping by - it means a lot.

Mason - HOW could I have forgotten THAT song?! It's a classic!!! And believe you me - there have been jobs in my past for which that song was soooooooo appropriate! Not this one (Thank God!), but a couple others which I was happy to see the last of as I walked out the door.

I'm afraid the only one I could think of was already taken by Mason. I'm marking your virtual party on my virtual calendar! I just know you'll be so happy to be home!

There is always my favorite Philosophy song: Bon Jovi's "It's My Life."
