A Day at The Watauga Farmer's Market

We're a community that thrives seasonally.

Winter is ski season here and a good ski season will bring a lot of tourists in to give our economy a boost.

We have leaf looking season.  Granted, it's a short season, but the leaf peepers arrive in droves.

Our best season economically is The Season.

Far removed from ski season, this is when folks who live in Florida during the winter months arrive and move into their mountain homes.  Here where the weather's not so hot and humid.

The High Country starts coming alive in more ways than one -

We're a little later than a lot of places when it comes to greening up.  But when we do green up, we do it with great enthusiasm and jubilation.

Many of the galleries and shops which have been closed for the winter are beginning to open.

Tweetsie Railroad is open again.

Moses Cone is open, or soon will be.

Friday night concerts on the Jones House lawn will start up again.

Monthly Art in the Park events are back.

Most of the local produce stands will open this weekend.

(I have to admit - a summer in the mountains is pretty glorious).

Donald and I kicked off The Season with a trip to the Farmer's Market -

Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed your visit to our local Farmer's Market

Come again!
