New (old) Books

I love browsing in a bookstore.

I'm especially fond of browsing in used bookstores.

Since that's on our list of things we're not allowed to do right now, I've been browsing through bookstores (old and new) on-line.

I love searching out pop-up books.

I only have a few, but today I have two new (old) ones I found through abebooks.com.

Both these books feed my "fix" for pop-ups AND for a place I love  - - -

Monet's home and gardens in Giverny

Both books are in excellent shape and appear to have all their pieces.

The garden for the Bob Hersey book hasn't even been put together, so I'll get to play with that.

Small joys.  Sometimes that's all we need.

Just think how wonderful it will be to look at these in the middle of winter.

Oh, Monet's House! I love the looks of that book. It's gorgeous, and brings back such wonderful memories. I checked out two older memoirs set in Paris today, and I have a novel on its way to me. (sigh) I miss travel.

Lesa, that was such a perfect day. And now I'm interested in hearing what these books are!! If we can't get on a plane, we'll read our way to where we wannt to be (and save our pennies).

I just picked up the novel - The Secret French Recipes of Sophie Valrous by Samantha Verant. Two older memoirs - Almost French: Love and a New Life in Paris by Sarah Turnbull. I might have read the other one before - Lunch in Paris: A Love Story with Recipes by Elizabeth Bard. And, St. Martin's just sent me a link to a January release on NetGalley, The Lost Manuscript by Cathy Bonidan, a translation from the French. And, it's an epistolary novel! I love epistolary novels! Now, I have too many books!
